Healthy Stadia Articles in Two European Journals

Healthy Stadia Articles in Two European Journals

The Network has recently had two articles published in European journals covering different aspects of sport and society. In March, the Network had an article published in the German journal “Sport + Politik detailing advances in tobacco control and smoking cessation at European sports stadia, including UEFA’s implementation of a tobacco-free EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine. For further details, please visit the “Sport + Politik” website: www.sportpluspolitik.de

In April, the Network had an article on workplace wellness published in the bi-monthly scientific journal produced by partner organisation, “Sport et Citoyenneté”. This article looks at the opportunities to improve the health of staff at sports clubs and stadia settings, and accompanied by examples drawn from Network members. These articles follow on from the peer reviewed Healthy Stadia article that appeared in Health Promotion International (Oxford University Press) in early 2012. The article details the key findings taken from the EU funded European Healthy Stadia pilot project that ran between July 2007 and December 2009, and is still accessible online on HPI website here
