10 May New Academic Papers Published on Healthy Stadia Topics
We are very proud to announce the publication of a special issue of Sport in Society Journal (Taylor & Francis) concerning a wide range of papers on Healthy Stadia related topics.
This special issue seeks to examine the relationship between sport clubs (both professional and amateur), stadia and health promotion through a collection of papers aligned to philosophical, political, environmental and practical interventions enabled through sport stadia settings to improve levels of health literacy and increase healthy behaviours.
Published in May, the collection includes applied perspectives; articles that consider sport stadia for public health promotion; research on the outcomes of physical activity and health promotion programmes in football clubs; the role of Physical Education and the implication of current sport policy; contributions on the lessons of from a sport, PA and health promotion interventions and findings from an older men’s community-based football led weight management intervention.
A list of the contributions is contained here and we would encourage readers to explore the collection and articles that offer practical implications, which can assist those who commission, manage or deliver physical activity and public health-related interventions through amateur and professional sports clubs. The link to the latest articles on the journal website is here, were you will find these articles appearing.
