20 Aug RESPECT Your Health Programme Culminates in ‘Eurocamp 2012’
Football, Healthy Lifestyles and Fun at ‘Eurocamp 2012’
In association with UEFA, and with the financial support from the European Commission, the RESPECT Your Health Programme run in conjunction with EURO 2012 will reach its climax at a football themed youth camp to run between August 28th and September 2nd in Wroclaw, Poland.
Coordinated by football development organisation streetfootballworld, Eurocamp 2012 will bring together around 250 young people from disadvantaged social backgrounds from all 53 UEFA nations for five days of intercultural and healthy lifestyle workshops, football, and fun.
The young participants will compete in a two-day fair play football tournament as well as workshops on social issues – such as fair play, social inclusion and cohesion, intercultural dialogue, youth leadership and healthy lifestyles – and integration activities focusing on communication and networking. Eurocamp 2012 in Poland will be a “global village” experience with young people from all over Europe coming together, speaking a range of different languages and representing many different cultures.
In addition to the young people taking part, we are happy to announce the attendance of Mr. Peter Gillieron, Chairman of the UEFA Fair Play and Social Responsibility Committee and Mrs. Doris Pack, member of the European Parliament and Chairperson of the Committee on Culture and Education.
